Seasonal Adult Hike:  The System of Trees, August 22, 2021 2-3:30pm

Age Group: Adult

Meets at Cranberry Lake Park, 384 W. Predmore Road, Oakland Township, MI

While walking through the woods it is easy to get caught up in the majesty of wildflowers dusting the ground, or the large leafy vines which ascend into the canopy, or hear nothing but the sound of countless critter communicating and defending their territories all around us. But we find the noble tree is often underrepresented. Join us at Cranberry Lake Park as we explore the world of trees while learning the biology of how they're composed, how to count and decipher a tree ring, the nuances of stoma respiratory cycles and more. We will even talk about what the best trees to plant at home are and how trees on the property are great for biodiversity at home! Participants will even be given their own saplings to take home and grow!
