Oakland Township Parks and Recreation and Dinosaur Hill Nature Preserve have partnered to bring Oakland Township residents and others exciting new programs at Lost Lake Nature Park. Family, friends and neighbors are invited to explore everything this partnership has to offer at FREE fall open houses.
Open houses are FREE! Open houses are FUN! Open houses are for the whole family! During these social-distancing times we have adjusted our open houses to ensure safety for the public. For the Autumn all open houses will require pre-registration and we are limiting each time slot to 10 individuals.
One thing any Michigander know is that putting your coat back in the closet at the end of winter is a surefire way to bring another blizzard, and the same goes with folding those t-shirts away after August. We seem to have wild days of ice and fire gingerly sprinkled throughout every one of our ten day forecasts. How is it that meteorologists discover these weather patterns and what tools do they use? Join us at Lost Lake as we set up our weather station and take some measurements from the air while learning about how the tools used to predict the weather. We will even be making our own weather forecast instruments to take home!
