Saturday, May 5th (3-7 year olds, 12 people max, 10-11:30am) – Wildflowers, Tea, Mommy & Me
Consider this an early mother’s day gift this year (perfect for the last minute shoppers and children unable to sneak out to purchase mom a gift.) We will meet within the Lost Lake Nature Center where a naturalist will lead a tea party for mom and child, complete with cookies, lemonade, and activities to do at each table! Once mom is happily full of sweets and ‘tea’ we shall take a walk out through the park and explore many of the wild flowers that bloom across the park before ending back in the nature center to put together a bouquet (not of wildflowers though, we follow a strict ‘no pick’ policy). Out on the trails we may see early violets, wild geranium, meadow rue, spiderwort, golden alexander, ragwort, thumbleweed, columbine, violets, clover, may apples and other common early spring blooms!
Class is $5 per person for residents of Oakland Township, $7 per person for non-residents,
Lost Lake Nature Park is located at 846 Lost Lake Trail in Oakland Township, Michigan.
Oakland Township Parks and Recreation Commission has entered into an agreement with Dinosaur Hill Nature Preserve to operate Lost Lake Nature Park; offering nature/environmental education programs.
